WordPress Plugin Update: Smoother Experience, Auto-Updates & More

Auto-updates, better Figma connection handling, improved previews, and more resilient conversions — our WordPress plugin just got a major upgrade.

WordPress Plugin Update: Smoother Experience, Auto-Updates & More

We've been hard at work improving the Yotako WordPress plugin, and we're excited to share a batch of updates that make your Figma-to-WordPress workflow smoother than ever.

Auto-Updates Enabled by Default

No more manual updates! The Yotako plugin now auto-updates by default, so you're always running the latest version with the newest features and fixes. One less thing to worry about.

Better Figma Connection Handling

We've improved how the plugin communicates with Figma. You'll now see clearer permission error messages when something goes wrong, and the plugin tracks token expiration so returning users don't hit unexpected disconnections. If you've ever been confused by a vague error during the connection step, this update is for you.

Figma Plugin as an Alternative Path

Sometimes the Figma URL approach doesn't work — maybe your file has restricted access or the URL isn't recognized. When that happens, the plugin now suggests installing the Yotako Figma plugin as an alternative way to export your design. Two paths, same great result.

Improved Preview Experience

We've polished the preview step: better URLs, cleaner button styling, and a redesigned download guide layout. The preview now feels like a natural part of the workflow rather than an afterthought.

More Resilient Conversions

Under the hood, we've added WebSocket reconnection logic and smarter rate limit handling. If the connection drops mid-conversion, the plugin now recovers automatically instead of failing silently. Your conversions are more reliable, especially on slower or unstable connections.

WordPress Playground Improvements

The live preview powered by WordPress Playground now has better retry logic and proper support for Cyrillic content. If your designs include non-Latin text, previews will now render correctly.

All of these improvements are available now. If you have auto-updates enabled (which is now the default!), you're already running the latest version.
